The Department of Civil Engineering of the Federal Polytechnic Offa has honored Engr. Anifowose Moshood Abiodun, the immediate past Dean of the school, and Alhaja Muibat Yusuf with befitting sendforth program as they bow out of service.
The program took place on Wednesday 9th of March 2022 at the School of Engineering mechatronics workshop. It was a blissful and remarkable moment for the two retired staff as they were celebrated for their worthwhile exploration and diligent services in Civil Engineering Department.
The Dean School of Engineering Technology, Engr. Adewumi Titus in his goodwill message described Engr. Anifowose as a good leader of excellence whose exemplary life is worthy of emulation. He added that everybody wanted him as the Dean and he proved himself as an outstanding leader during his tenure. He also described Alhaja Muibat as a virtuous woman who had served the department diligently.
For Engr. Salaudeen, he described Engr. Anifowose as a dedicated, committed staff who has served the department in his best capacity. He added that the celebrant is one of the founding fathers of the Civil Engineering department that always takes work to heart.
The Dean, Directorate of students’ affairs, Engr. Dr. Waheed Balogun congratulated the celebrants on their retirement. He reiterated the efforts of Engr. Anifowose towards the Development of Civil Engineering Department since establishment in 1999. He described him as a ‘white man in black skin’, humble, simple who always says the truth as it is. He also described Alhaja Muibat as a mother of the department who is loyal, timely, and committed to duties. He, therefore, prayed for their retirement to be fruitful.
While ASUP Vice Chairman, Engr. Anifowose Mukaila Abiola (Mikky) on behalf of the Civil Engineering Alumni Association congratulated Engr. Anifowose Moshood as he retired from service. He noted the lessons learnt while under his tutelage as a student of the Polytechnic.
Engr. Anifowose in his response, thanked God for the gift of life and honor bestowed on them by the Department.
He said, “Glory to Almighty God for what he has done in our lives. Put your mind wherever you are and you will get to where you are going. The foundation staff that set up Civil Engineering Department was Godsent. We worked as a family and as a team for the progress of the department. I thank all the staff of the department, I thank all my family members, I appreciate the efficient, intelligent, and hardworking HOD, Engr. Mrs. Adeyemi Adedayo, Engr. Adewumi, Dr, Balogun, Engr. Salaudeen and others for their support.”
“I appreciate everyone for celebrating our retirement. May God bless you all,” he added.
