The ambiance of the Federal Polytechnic Offa has been thrown in a somber mood over the sudden death of Mr. Niyi Oladipo, the Deputy Registrar Alumni who slept in the lord on Friday 8th of March, 2022.
The Polytechnic Management team led by the Acting Rector, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi paid a condolence visit to the mother and wife of the deceased to commiserate with the family over the painful exit.
Narrating the incident, the immediate past Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mr. Gbenga Aleminu revealed that he spoke with the deceased on Thursday, a day before his death and they also met in Church on Wednesday. He added that the incident occurred around 3:am on Friday when he was discovered lying down unconsciously while all efforts to rescue him proved abortive.
According to him, ” We met in church on Wednesday and I spoke with him on Thursday. He woke up around 3:am on Friday and picked up his phone to look at messages and after then his wife noticed him lying down.
he lived his life to serve God and humanity and we believe that he would find rest in the lord.”
Speaking on behalf of the Management, the Deputy Rector Academic, Arc, TPL. Augustine Adama described him as a hard-working and amiable staff.
He said, ” The whole Polytechnic is shocked about his death. It is God that gives and takes at the appropriate time. We cannot help to stop his passage. May he continue to rest in the Lord.
“On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, we pay you a condolence visit. We want you and your children to take it as the will of God. He has gone to rest. May Almighty God be with you, protect you. May the children grow old. May God make provision for the upkeep of the family. It is a painful exit but we cannot query God.”
Also speaking, the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Arowosegbe described the deceased as a good leader who relates with people successfully. He prayed to God to uphold the family and repose his soul.
While the Acting Rector, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi said the Management has started to prepare what is needful for the deceased as he means a lot to the Polytechnic.
Other Principal Officers present are: The Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Rasaq Femi Quadri, the Bursar, Mr. Azeez Amid.
